HJ Students Speaking Up

The Harris-Jackson community had the privilege of sending several students to a Steering Committe Meeting at the district administration building on Wednesday, March 30th. The students were asked to share their thoughts and opinions regarding several matters related to College & Careers Academies of Akron (CCAA) at the elementary level. The students talked about the importance of having a "student voice" and their views of the Essential Experiences (that take place at different places throughout our community and nearby communities). The students also talked about the Portrait of an Elementary Scholar, and how the highlighted skills can help them and other young people now and throughout life. They also had the privilege of spending some time with Superintendent Fowler Mack and Mrs. Tecca (Chief of Leadership & Learning).

We are so proud of these HJ Cardinals for representing our school so well! Great job Mason, Jovana, Lareesha, Kashindi, and Selena!
