Thank You North High DECA
On Tuesday, December 17th, our friends from the North High School DECA program once again expressed their care and support for Harris-Jackson students. Mr. Mathews and five of his student leaders visited our school and presented students with gifts that were specifically picked out for 10 of our kids. It was so heartwarming to see the kids’ faces light up as they entered the cafeteria, and to see and hear their excitement as they received their assortment of gifts. Some of the kids made comments like, “These are some of the nicest gifts I’ve ever gotten!!” “My mom is going to be so excited to see these!” “This is so awesome!” Equally rewarding was seeing the pride on the faces of the high schoolers as they offered the gifts to the elementary students. (One North High student was actually a former Harris-Jackson student leader, so that was also special!)
Although a few of the kids were absent on the day of the presentation, they were able to receive their gifts and were just as excited and grateful. We’re so appreciative of Mr. Mathews and his DECA students for taking the time to make the holidays special for some of our HJ students!
