Be Kind at Harris-Jackson
Harris-Jackson was recognized at a recent Board of Education meeting. Superintendent Outley read about one of the initiatives that started at the beginning of the second semester. Please read below to learn about this "Be Kind" submission:
"At Harris-Jackson CLC, our students are teaming up to make a difference and create a positive school environment!
Fourth- and fifth-graders had follow-up meetings with the admin team and school counselor to review ideas they brainstormed earlier this semester to improve the school climate and culture. They reflected on data collected from the Transcend survey for grades 4 and 5 and the School Perception survey for grades K-3.
Working in small groups, students provided the leadership team with thoughtful ideas to make the school experience better for everyone. Their suggestions included ways to increase kindness, recognize positive behavior, improve group work skills, enhance the lunch experience, support students who need language assistance and much more.
This is what Be Kind 330 is all about — students taking the lead, lifting each other up, and building a school culture where everyone feels seen, heard and supported."
